Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and livesociya when you use livesociya.com. By signing in, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use livesociya

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• If you are under 18, you may use livesociya only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms and the Privacy Policy for you.
• You must not use livesociya if we have suspended your account before, or if the law forbids you from using it.

2. Your account

• You sign in with your own Google account and pick a handle. One person, one account; don't impersonate anyone or pretend to represent a club, college or brand you don't.
• Keep your Google account secure. You're responsible for what happens on your livesociya account.
• Handles are first come, first served. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark or is offensive.

3. The rules

Don't use livesociya to post, send or organise anything that:

• harasses, bullies, threatens, stalks or intimidates anyone, or reveals someone's private information without their consent;
• is hateful towards people based on religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar;
• is sexually explicit, or sexualises anyone under 18 in any way;
• promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or the sale of drugs, weapons or other illegal goods;
• is an event that is illegal, dangerous, or misleading about what, where or when it is;
• is spam, a scam, a pyramid scheme, or unauthorised advertising;
• infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights, or is a photo of someone who hasn't agreed to it being shared;
• is otherwise unlawful under Indian law, including content prohibited by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it.

Also don't: try to access other people's accounts or data, get around blocks, rate limits or other safeguards, scrape the app, overload it, or reverse-engineer it to do any of these things.

4. Events and meeting people

Events on livesociya are created by users. We don't organise, host, check or supervise them, and we don't verify who people are. Before you go somewhere or meet someone:

• prefer public places, and tell a friend where you're going;
• trust your instincts — leave if something feels wrong;
• use Block and Report in the app, and in an emergency call 112.

If you host an event, you're responsible for it being lawful, honestly described and reasonably safe, and for any permissions it needs (for example, from your college).

5. Your content

You own what you post — events, messages, photos, comments and stories. So that the app can work, you give livesociya a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display and deliver that content to the people you share it with, for as long as it stays on livesociya. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have a copy (for example, a message you already sent them) or the law requires us to keep it.

You confirm you have the right to post what you post, including permission from anyone recognisable in your photos.

6. Moderation, reports and suspension

• Anyone can report an event, profile, message, comment or story. Our moderators review reports and may remove content that breaks these terms.
• We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, with or without warning, depending on how serious it is. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we'll take another look.
• As an intermediary under Indian law, we will act on valid orders from courts and government agencies and on complaints under the IT Rules within the time they set.

7. Leaving

You can stop using livesociya at any time. To delete your account and its data, email us from your account's address (see the Privacy Policy for what's deleted and when).

8. The service itself

livesociya is a young, free product. We work to keep it running and safe, but we provide it “as is”: we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every event or person on it is what they claim. We may change, add or remove features, and may end the service with reasonable notice.

9. Our liability

To the extent the law allows, livesociya is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for anything that happens at an event or between users, or for content posted by users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to ₹1,000.

If your use of livesociya or your content leads to a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim.

10. Our name and app

The livesociya name, the firefly logo and the app's design and code belong to us. These terms don't give you any right to use them, other than to use the app as intended.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Using livesociya after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to sort it out. Any dispute will be heard by the courts of India.

Questions, complaints or reports: support@livesociya.com. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
